He’s directing the feature film of TOTAL NOVICE this fall and is writing a book of FUCK TINDER as well. David also wrote a book about living and working with his mentor Spalding Gray at an arts colony shortly before his suicide called NEVER MEET YOUR IDOLS.

 

David is the writer/composer of 7 evening-legnth operas and musicals , including: NO GOD BUT YEARNING: A Prayer Cycle (Public Theatre: New Works Now!), MONKS AND SLUTS AND STATESMEN, OH, MY! (Edinburgh), TRIPPIN’ (LaMaMa ETC), WARNING!: explicit Material (Disney/ ASCAP, Dixon Place), VIRTUAL MOTION: A One-Man Hyper Opera, ECSTATIC JOURNEY: A Multimedia Opera, and

STAR DREK: a musical parody which ran in Seattle for 2 years to the delight of Shattner & Nimoy who came to see the show.

David has also written 25 ten-minute musicals with some of the best dramatic writers in the country from Maryrose Wood to Julie Hebért.  

 

He’s worked in the writers’ rooms on a number of TV shows from The Jonas Brothers to Swingtown.

 

And with his non-profit juggernaut Raw Impressions  and RIPFest he produced the world premieres of 170 of ten-minute musicals and 60 short films from 2001-2006 with over 2000 amazing artists.

 

And yes, shockingly, despite Fuck Tinder...

 

David is still single.
